Some photos from the trip four month back. We went to Aizu Wakamatsu with this guy who is no longer with us now. He was totally hyped at this point in his life. He never knew what would happen to him later on. Right now, his behind bars in a cube, struggling for freedom. Good luck, keep your head up, kid.

Long time no update. This is about the contest below four month ago... Yep, we have found a star.

This is a report on the contest that took place at Bunkyo Skate Park.
It was a lot of fun with cosplay skater girl and a special competition
against three-skater teams. Hagiwara at Fat Bros had a big smile
watching the show. The champ was somehow Gou Miyagi. Akira Fujimoto,
Toru Yoshida and I entered the team competition. Yeah, we tried our
best. Nice work, thanks organizers!

"It's been a while since the last update. I've changed by board after a
while since I heard that there's gonna be a contest at Bunkyo Skate
Park. I'd been riding the board that I had in the released DVD
'Straight Days' for almost a year now, since it was a pain in the ass
to change it. The season has changed and it's spring now, why not
change my board? Put some stickers on, representing Nakano Fat Bros,
I'm thinking where I'll go with this board. Also put an FESN stencil
and the board is all set. I gotta do some ollies while the tail is
still hard."

"Have you all checked out 'Straight Days' yet? This is a report from
the production of the give away CD for the DVD. It was made a while
ago, but this is a delayed report. It was made at Ponchi's studio. I
was reading Ponchi's serial article in a magazine and I realized that
he unexpectedly looked like black. It cracked me up. Well, good
soundtrack was made. Check it out."

It's time for the update, and this time I went on a little trip to
Chiba. I visited shops and skated with skater heads in Chiba. The
first shop I visited was SWAPMEET where the locals gathered proudly.
There was also a club called WANNABE'S in the basement, which means
that they can do their thing on their own. I'd better go back again
some other time and hang out.
Last but not least, I visited a shop called GROOVY WORLD, which was
located near Chiba Chuo Park. They were all about the 90's Hip-Hop,
and they had a good selection of records, CDs and other items. They
now carry LIBE, so all you heads around the area, check them out. They
showed me this crazy DVD called 'Yoasobi Komutenn/Utage' and I
instantly became the biggest fan of the DVD. It was like, "Yoasobi
Komuten BANZAI!" You won't get it if I just wrote about the content of
the DVD here so I won't write, but it can never be categorized in any
kind of skate video. It is truly a masterpiece of the director guy
who's even gloomier than I am. One of the things that I wanted to
express in 'overground broadcasting' was 'hometown', and they have
expressed it sharply. The fact that they're not trying to sell makes
them freer to express their theme. I really enjoyed it and I could
tell they worked hard. No throw away footage and there is a heart in
every one of them. It's all about the hometown and friends. Guys,
please continue making this kind of videos with your buddies in Chiba.
I will do so too in Tokyo. Thanks guys. And once again, "Yoasobi
Komuten BANZAI!"

"The next day after the party, I went to see my friend fight in a
match. FESN Production made the costume for him and his crew to wear
when entering the ring. Yeah, of course LIBE BRAND UNIVS made it, all
black. 20 of them from the hood wearing LIBE and they're entering the
ring. All black. The fight took place at Kokugikan Hall (Sumo Mecca),
so I enjoyed watching the fight thinking about Sumo and its history.
The fight was great too. It's not about the result; it's about how he
fought. It's not about the title; it's more about intuition. That's
what my clothing brand is all about, and I can say that my intuition
was right."

"This is a report on the 24th Return of the Fat, which was also the 6th
anniversary since the first one. We concentrated on showcasing live
performances with DJ in the back, making it a total new type club
sound. The lineup is YOUSUKE NAKANO from FESN, DJ DUCT whose second
album was bangin', sax player/improvising sampler CHI3CHEE from THINK
TANK, improvising beat maker/human beat boxer TAIKA from LIBRA
RECORDS, and also from LIBRA is a duo rapper/skater JUSWANNA. The last
performance was by Takayuki Doi aka TAIKO MAN who made the music for
Shintaro Maruyama part in 'underground broadcasting'. They all rocked
the floor and got their messages out that music is for you to enjoy. I
hope everyone who came got that message. We have all footage and music
from the past parties, 24 times, 6 years. We're planning to release
them in some way, so keep your heads up!"

Sorry for the late update. This time... Well, this time too, a lot of
things went down... but I couldn't update them all... But FESN is
still alive. As I said in the last message, I'm working on TBHR dvd
and getting ready for LIBE BRAND UNIVS's 2009 spring/summer
exhibition. I'll write about them in the February message and I'll
just take about a week to update the things that went down since the
New Years. Enjoy the photos.
